What is Sweat for Science?

Sweat for Science is more than a challenge, it’s a movement. Born from the legacy of Prof. Tim Noakes and his ground breaking work in exercise science and nutrition, this annual event invites individuals, families, and communities across the globe to commit to 30 minutes of movement each day for the entire month of July.

Whether it’s a walk, a run, a gym session, or dancing in your living room, every drop of sweat counts. Each step forward is a step toward better health, increased awareness of metabolic disease, and funding the vital work of the Noakes Foundation.

Why We Move

Sweat for Science was created to honour Prof. Noakes’ contributions to the science of human performance, while empowering people to take charge of their health through movement and lifestyle change. By participating, you’re not just improving your own health, you’re helping to support research, education, and outreach efforts that bring hope and healing to communities worldwide.

Make It Count

All participants are encouraged to:

  • Move for 30 minutes daily in any way that feels good.

  • Share their journey on social media using #SweatForScience.

  • Support the mission by fundraising, donating, or simply spreading the word.

A Growing Legacy

Sweat for Science is now an annual event, growing bigger each year with more participants, more impact, and more stories of transformation. It’s a celebration of what we can achieve, together, when we choose to move, to change, and to inspire.

Join us each July as we sweat with purpose, for science, for health, and for the future.
