Eat Better South Africa (EBSA), a programme of The Noakes Foundation, is looking for a passionate and community-minded Community Coach to support our programme at Vanguard Community Health Centre.
About the role:
The Community Coach will help participants make practical, sustainable changes to their eating and lifestyle habits through:
Community nutrition education and coaching support
- Participant recruitment, engagement and follow-up
- Supporting EBSA programme sessions
- Managing/supporting EBSA WhatsApp groups
- Supporting clinic and community outreach activities
- Maintaining participant records and programme data
- Supporting approved monitoring, evaluation and research activities
- Working respectfully with clinic staff, participants and community partners
We are looking for someone who:
Is passionate about helping people improve their health and wellbeing
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
- Is comfortable working in a community and clinic environment
- Has good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Can use WhatsApp and basic digital tools confidently
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and protecting personal information
- Can work within their training and scope and refer medical questions appropriately
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability and good interpersonal skills
Relevant experience in community health, nutrition education, health promotion, coaching or community programmes will be an advantage.
Location: Vanguard Community Health Centre, Cape Town
Engagement: Independent Service Provider
This is not an employment position. Services are agreed according to programme requirements, and there are no guaranteed minimum hours or fixed monthly salary.
The successful service provider will work in coordination with the EBSA Programme Manager and will be required to comply with applicable confidentiality, POPIA, participant safety and programme requirements.
