About Eat Better South Africa (EBSA)

Eat Better South Africa is a community initiative of The Noakes Foundation that empowers South Africans to make healthier food choices through education, coaching, and grassroots engagement. We work with communities to promote affordable, sustainable, and culturally appropriate dietary changes that improve health and well-being.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on EBSA  program manager to lead the next phase of program growth and impact. The successful candidate will oversee program operations, manage and train community coaches, expand our work into new clinics and communities, and ensure smooth, effective delivery of EBSA’s nutrition education initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about community health and nutrition who thrives in a fast-paced, field-based environment and wants to make a meaningful difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Implementation 
    • Oversee the rollout of EBSA programs into new clinics and community hubs.
    • Develop and adapt nutrition education content and materials for diverse audiences.
    • Ensure program quality, consistency, and measurable impact.
    • Assist with data collection for ongoing research 
  • Team Leadership & Training 
    • Manage and support EBSA community coaches to ensure high-quality program delivery.
    • Identify, recruit, and train new coaches across the Western Cape, ensuring alignment with EBSA values and nutrition principles.
    • Develop clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all coaches and team members.
    • Monitor, evaluate, and report on performance against these KPIs to ensure accountability, continuous improvement, and measurable impact.
    • Provide ongoing mentorship, feedback, and capacity-building opportunities to maintain strong, motivated, and effective teams. 
  • Operations & Administration 
    • Oversee day-to-day program operations and logistics.
    • Manage budgets, reporting, stock, and resource allocation.
    • Coordinate HR-related processes
    • Prepare regular updates and feedback reports for key stakeholders 
  • Communications & Collaboration 
    • Liaise with clinics, community partners, and stakeholders.
    • Represent EBSA at outreach events, workshops, and training sessions.
    • Work closely with The Noakes Foundation team to align strategies and share insights. 

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or background in nutrition, particularly a LCHF approach
  • Completion of Nutrition Network courses (beneficial but not essential).
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Highly organized with experience in Google Suite and Canva.
  • Must be Cape Town-based with own reliable transport.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly across the Western Cape.
  • Prepared to work weekends for community events and program rollouts.
  • Passionate about improving health and committed to EBSA’s mission.
